Our school provides a safe and nurturing environment that will support your child’s participation in an educational curriculum that promotes the academic, physical, emotional, and social development of the whole child. Madison Montessori encourages children to explore independent and self-motivated work, aided through individual instruction and a wide variety of proven learning methods. We strive to promote personal responsibility, critical thinking and community spirit in every one of our students.

At Madison Montessori Academy each child wears a school uniform on a daily basis. We do not want clothing to be a distraction for the children and it also gives them a sense of unity.

Testimonials

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff at the Madison Montessori School in Kemptville for all of their help and support with my twins. As a military member, I was accustomed to transitioning from one location to another, however, when it came to daycare I was out of my element. Since I didn’t know much about Ottawa, nor the daycare environment I placed the twins with a friend of the family who had a daycare when they were one. After a year, we moved to Kemptville and I transitioned the children to MMA for travel convenience. I can honestly say, BEST DECISION I EVER MADE!! In comparing private daycare to MMA, MMA may be a bit more expensive but:

a. MMA has multiple staff should a Caregiver get sick. Should a caregiver get sick in a private daycare, daycare for this period is left to the parent – potentially a big problem for single parents

b. MMA takes one week in the summer and Christmas holidays to provide time off for staff. A private daycare may take more time off (such as it was in my case) or they may announce a potential trip or require time off for a number of reasons.

c. MMAs developmental program is fixed but flexible and the children are always monitored – I cannot say this holds true for private daycare. If there is only one caregiver when does that particular individual get a break? Who is helping the child develop life skills such as putting on their pants ect, should another child need help at the same time.

d. MMA is also sensitive to the needs of the parent – whether the parents are stressed and needs a break or whether the parent needs assistance should the child need more attention with a particular lifeskill ect. A private daycare will give advice and may point the parent in a particular direction so the parent can do more research, however, MMA has oodles of experience in child development and services and helps the parent to get the services they require. Outstanding!!! (When the twins arrived at MMA one did not talk, when he left MMA he could talk and read – now hes learning French)

Don’t get me wrong daycare has its purposes, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have bypassed the family friend caregiver and gone directly to MMA – regardless of cost!! The dependability, assistance, snow day support, PD day support, short but scheduled standard holiday periods, focused life skill development of Montessouri approach, more staff per child relative to private daycare, oodles of feedback and cooperative approach to child development was nothing short of EXCEPTIONAL.”
Thanks again Ladies, should you ever need anything let me know. Jennifer Watkins
“Upon our family moving to the Kemptville area from Ottawa, we were a little apprehensive about the quality of childcare available in the area. Our daughter Linden had been enrolled in several facilities in the Ottawa area before we moved. Although she was progressing nicely both socially and academically, something always seemed to be missing from the day care centers she attended in the city. We wanted to find the best place in the area for Linden to continue to grow and the greatest option for our youngest son to begin his journey of early childhood education. After interviewing over a dozen home-based daycares we found Madison Montessori Academy online and booked an appointment right away.

After meeting with the supervisor April and receiving a tour of the facility we were impressed immediately. As a parent, there is something to be said about that ‘good feeling’ you have about something and even more weight is put to that feeling with regards to your children and their childcare. Acting on this good feeling, we registered our son right away at MMA and have never looked back. Rye started his journey in the infant program where he was surrounded by devoted caregivers that understood the significance of balancing love and nourishment with educational growth. The sincerity in his teacher’s faces and voices, on a daily basis, for both drop off and pick up, was enough to ease our nerves and positively reinforce our decision to send our little boy to daycare at such a young age. He has since graduated to the toddler program where he continues to mature into a well-rounded little gentleman.

Due to the success of Rye’s progression, we then decided to enroll our eldest child into the summer program before heading off to Junior Kindergarten. After joining the MMA family, Linden continued to blossom into a delightfully smart little girl whom we are extremely proud of. She has graduated and moved on to the public school system but we believe MMA provided her with an early childhood toolkit consisting of good manners, proper social skills and quality education that parallels our family’s philosophies and beliefs. Linden currently enjoys attending MMA’s before and after school program where she is comforted in knowing that the same people will always be there to safely get her on and off the bus every morning and afternoon.

Your academy should pride itself in offering the Kemptville area an elite professional childcare service while keeping costs to a minimum. We would genuinely like to Thank You for the enhanced progression of our children Linden and Rye. We will forever be grateful knowing that Madison Montessori Academy provided the best childcare experience for our children. They will continue to benefit from the developmental and social skills established as well as cherish the friendships made for years to come.”
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. The Little-Mansell’s
“Madison Montessori has provided us with worry-free child care delivered by professionals who are passionate about their place in our boys’ lives. Their facilities are clean and purpose-built, and designed for a fun and educational environment. With emphasis on personal responsibility and broadening their minds to new concepts through field trips and exposure to nature, we know our boys have benefitted greatly from their time at Madisson.”

“As a parent of a 7 year old daughter and 4 year old son enrolled at Madison Montessori Academy from when the school first opened its doors. After receiving a tour of the school I was impressed with how clean and organized the school was; very bright, colorful, large classrooms and a large gym. Teamed with experienced wonderful, caring teachers! My children were eager to get to school every morning and leave with the widest of smiles in the afternoon. Not only did my children come home having obtained valuable educational tools, but they came away happy and confident. It is truly amazing to watch your children enjoy learning and have confidence in themselves and their abilities. The school has a wonderful menu that is nutritious and well received by our children. The before and after school programs are convenient for parents and fun for kids as are the camps that are offered outside of the school year. The Director of Madison Montessori Academy April Hughes takes great care in her school and students; this is vividly evident from the moment one enters Madison Montessori. The environment is warm and personal and my children are treated with respect and kindness and seen as individuals. From the moment our kids walked through the door, the place became their school; a special place where everything is set up for them, with things to explore, to touch, to discover. The teachers gently guided the children, as a group and individually, to the various areas of learning within the room. In this environment, children learn to explore, to ask questions, to figure things out, all the while learning to be respectful of others. It is a school where your children will learn, laugh and develop the skills to take them beyond their pre-school years. I was always amazed by the fact that the classroom in action looked like the brochure, children were engaged, class was calm, quiet, happy aura and always child-centered. The teachers are incredible, they take the time to really know each child and demonstrate keen insight, great skill, and love for what they do. We have truly enjoyed every experience.”

“Choosing a daycare with your first child is absolutely terrifying; you have no idea what to expect and become apprehensive of the care they will receive. When the time came to register Holden for daycare, there were no other options for me – Madison Montessori was the one, and only, daycare on my list. After meeting with April and getting a tour of the facility, I had no doubt in my mind that I had made the right decision. The classroom sizes and ratio of teachers to children were perfect, the classrooms were neat and tidy with a great setup for each age group, the meal plan was impressive, and the cost was affordable. An added bonus is that the regular working hours were 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.; this meant no extra cost for early drop-off and late pick-up. Holden made an excellent transition into the infant and toddler programs. He was a late speaker, but very aware as to what was going on around him. One of the teachers in the Casa class recognized this, and worked with him and his ability to write and problem solve at an early age to help kick-start his vocabulary. From the little non-verbal child, he has soared into a vocal child with mathematical and reading comprehension beyond his years with the help of the staff at Madison Montessori. He absolutely loves going there, and still, to this day, doesn’t want to leave when it’s time to go. I am beyond pleased with the care that Holden and Nathaniel receive at our Montessori. The care, compassion and understanding the staff has, not only for the children, but the parents as well, is beyond anyone’s expectations. I can honestly say it will be a very sad day for our family when it comes time for the children to move on.”
Thank you for everything that you have done. There is no other daycare like yours. -The Boyd’s
“As I'm sitting here writing this, I find myself getting very emotional. When Paul and I first set out to find a place for Lily just over 4 years ago we had three very specific things that needed to be part of a school:
1- A place where Lily would be cared for as if her own family was looking after her
2-A place where Lily would get a head start on her education and set her up for life long success
3-A place where she could grow to be a bright, caring person

Madison Montessori ticks all of those boxes and then some. From the home cooked meals to all the caring individuals that work at the school, we couldn't have asked for a better place for Lily to spend the first five years of her life.

A special note to April: You have created something truly amazing in Maidson Montessori. Your passion for making Montessori education accessible to everyone shines through. You are a true gem!! I wish you all the success in the future.”
Thank you! The Winter family :)
“Our daughter Ellie has been at Madison Montessori Academy since she was only 11 months old. From the moment we walked in for our school tour we knew this would be the perfect place for her to learn and grow. The staff have always been and continue to be extremely kind and caring. You can tell they love their job and care deeply for each and every child in the school.
Although she is now in the Casa program, Ellie still gives her teachers in the Toddler program a hug every single morning. She has been doing this for almost a year now and it still brings a smile to my face every single time! I know she has developed a bond with them that will last a lifetime.
Thanks to her teachers, the staff, the Montessori environment, and her friends, Ellie is excelling in many areas of life. Her vocabulary, counting, and understanding of basic science concepts exceed those of her peers; she has learned the importance of sharing, taking turns, doing things for others, and helping those in need. MMA has prepared her for Kindergarten and beyond and we could not thank the school and the staff enough for what they done for our daughter. We are glad she will still be a part of MMA in the Before and After School program once she starts Kindergarten in September and I’m sure her list of teachers to hug in the morning will continue to grow.”
Thanks! The Fournier Family
“We have had a wonderful experience with MMA. Our daughter, Anne-Marie, has been a student at the school since she was one year old. I was nervous about leaving her at a daycare all day, but I shouldn't have been worried. She absolutely loves her school and she adjusted quickly, despite being a relatively shy, quiet child. The teachers are incredibly caring and they genuinely love the children.
Anne-Marie, now 2.5 years old, surprises us regularly with what she has learned at school. She loves to sing and learns all sorts of new songs at school, which she tries to teach us at home. She knows all of her numbers as well as the alphabet, and has already learned about things such as numerical order, smaller and larger, more and less, etc. Anne-Marie, an only child, has learned to play cooperatively with other children and now has many friends, whom she talks about all the time at home. There is a great emphasis at MMA on teaching social graces, and we are so proud that Anne-Marie regularly remembers to say 'please' and 'thank you'. She has learned to keep her work space tidy and loves to help out with the activities of daily living at home, such as preparing her own food, helping to tidy up after meals, and brushing her own teeth. The school fosters a great sense of independence in the children, while at the same time providing a safe, nurturing environment to support the children's development. Even toilet training was made relatively easy through collaboration with Anne-Marie's teachers - she feels so proud of herself for having achieved this big step!
In our experience, the school is run very professionally and we have had excellent experiences with all of the staff. I am so happy that we chose to enroll our daughter here. I couldn't imagine a better preschool experience.”
Thanks! Katie :-)
“Our son started at Madison Montessori 3 years ago when we moved to Kemptville. I cannot say enough good things about the place!! All the staff is excellent and they seem to all know our son even if he is not in their class. Our daughter will be starting with them this fall and know that she is in a safe and loving environment.
When our son started at Madison Montessori after we moved to Kemptville, my wife and I were a little concerned about leaving our first born in a strangers care (first time parents!). After meeting the staff and seeing how our son thrived there, we were very happy knowing he was in a safe and loving environment. We just cannot say enough good things about Madison! Absolutely love it.
Take your pick!! We seriously cannot say enough good things about the place!
Thank you Chris H
“My son Ryan has been attending Madison Montessori since August 2014. Since then, he has developed an amazing vocabulary and knowledge of the world around him. He serenades me with all of the songs he has learned, and brings home beautiful art. The staff are an amazing bunch - being such a crucial support through difficult times. I would recommend Madison Montessori to anyone looking for child care in the area." ”

“Our children have flourished under the care of the staff at Madison Montessori and I can’t imagine having them anywhere else. The children are encouraged, stimulated, educated and safe. Dropping off and picking up my children is a highlight of my day, as it is a happy and fun place. We really like that the staff keep us informed and the "daily report" (photo and info) let us take a peek into our children's day. ”
